Genesis Smithfield 2022 bike review – Tire clearance, weight, gears, motor, battery, specs and geometry of this Electric commuter-tourer by Genesis.
After a few years of absence from the lineup, Genesis repurpose the Smithfield as and electric commuter bike.
The Genesis Smithfield 2022 urban commuter has a classic steel look, split top tube and long wheelbase, It’s lines clean, but purposeful.
The internal Shimano Nexus/Alfine gearing has been replaced by a modest Shimano Acera 3×9 groupset. .
Designed for year-round urban riding, the Genesis Smithfield comes equipped with full-length mud guards so that the city muck stays where it belongs. It’s lines are clean, but purposeful
Powerful disc brakes make stopping a breeze, no matter the weather. The Shimano’s STEPS E6100 motor has enough power to bring you up that long hill with ease, and two high power modes give that boost needed to get up the steepest slopes.
An impressive autonomy of up to 150km in Eco mode and a fast recharge time of just two hours to 80% capacity or four hours to 100% make this electric touring-commuting bike a very interesting choice for those looking for an electric all-rounder.
Thanks to the rack that comes as standard, plenty of mount-points, stable geometry, and relaxed riding position the Genesis Smithfield will allow you to rely on it even for a few-months-long trip.
The Genesis Smithfield is a reliable commuter bike that will double just great as a light tourer along the European cycling paths.
